The shape of it

About

A roughly 800-metre tunnel of deep-blue light runs from Shibuya's Koen-dori to the zelkova trees by Yoyogi Park, with around 500,000 LEDs reflecting off the street to deepen the cave-like effect. It is free and entirely on public roads, making it one of Shibuya's most atmospheric winter walks.

Highlights

  • Roughly 800 m of all-blue light from Koen-dori to Yoyogi Park
  • Around 500,000 LEDs reflecting off the street for a glowing 'cave' effect
  • Free and accessible right from central Shibuya

Plan it well

  1. A short walk from Shibuya or Harajuku stations; busiest on December weekends
  2. Walk the tunnel from the Yoyogi Park end toward Shibuya for the best light reflections
  3. Go early on a weekday evening for photos without crowds in the frame
