The shape of it
About
The world's largest self-published comic (doujinshi) fair, held twice yearly at Tokyo Big Sight. The summer 2026 edition (C108) brings tens of thousands of fan-creator circles, major corporate anime/game booths, and one of Japan's biggest cosplay gatherings across two days.
Highlights
- Roughly 30,000 doujinshi circles per day selling fan-made manga, art, music and games
- Huge corporate booths from anime, game and VTuber companies with exclusive merch
- One of the largest cosplay gatherings in Japan, with dedicated changing areas
- Held during the Obon travel period, creating intense crowd and transport demand
Plan it well
- Buy your entry wristband online in advance — same-day stock is limited and queues form before opening (10:30).
- August in Tokyo is brutally hot and humid; bring water, a fan, salt tablets and a portable battery, and pace yourself.
- Bring cash — most circle sales are cash-only — and a sturdy bag for purchases.
- Note: due to East 4-6 Halls being under construction, C108 is slightly smaller than a normal Comiket.
