About

The winter edition of Comic Market, the world's biggest doujinshi (self-published comics) fair at Tokyo Big Sight. C109 closes out the year with thousands of fan-creator circles, corporate anime and game booths, and a massive year-end cosplay scene.

Highlights

  • Tens of thousands of fan-creator circles selling original and derivative manga, art, music and games
  • Major corporate anime and game booths with limited-edition year-end merchandise
  • One of Tokyo's biggest cosplay gatherings, just before New Year
  • Draws roughly half a million visitors across two cold winter days

Plan it well

  1. Dress for genuine cold — the queues are outdoors and Tokyo mornings in late December are freezing.
  2. Buy your entry wristband in advance; same-day stock is limited and morning lines are long.
  3. Bring cash for the cash-only circle stalls and a strong bag.
  4. It falls right at year-end, when many shops and transit schedules shift — check New Year holiday timetables.
