The shape of it
About
Roppongi Art Night turns the Roppongi art district into an all-night, dusk-to-dawn art festival, with installations, performances and museum programming spread across Mori Art Museum, the National Art Center, Tokyo Midtown, 21_21 Design Sight and the surrounding streets. The 2026 edition returns to its full all-night format for the first time in three years.
Highlights
- Dusk-to-dawn art across Roppongi's galleries, museums and public spaces
- Large-scale outdoor installations and live performances
- Late-night access to major art venues like Mori Art Museum and the National Art Center
- 2026's 15th edition spotlights France, home of the 'Nuit Blanche' that inspired the festival
Plan it well
- It runs through the night — plan for late trains or a stay-out-till-dawn route, as Tokyo trains stop around midnight.
- Most outdoor art is free; budget separately for ticketed museum exhibitions you want to see.
- Pick up the program/map in advance — the works are spread across a wide area of Roppongi.
- Comfortable shoes and layers: you'll walk a lot and late October nights are chilly.
